Ferda’s Garden Center is a locally-owned retail garden center and greenhouses situated in the beautiful scenic hills of southeastern Ohio. The garden center has established a reputation in its 30+ years in business for quality products and excellent service from an experienced and friendly staff.
Bob Ferda grew up in the Ohio Valley, served in the US Air Force, then studied Botany at Miami University (Ohio) where he met his wife, Lynn. Their goal became the creation of a garden center to serve the Ohio Valley that Bob loved. After they married they moved to the Cleveland area where Lynn was working, and Bob was hired by a garden center, working his way up to general manager.
In 1979, with two young sons in tow, they moved back to the Ohio Valley area and set their plan in motion. Ferda’s Garden Center became a reality in 1980. The Garden Center has been located in three separate locations along Route 250, finally settling into its permanent location just east of the junction of Route 250 and Route 150.
Both Bob and Lynn are strong supporters of the “Buy Local” idea.
