Don’t You Just Love the New Lowe’s Ads?

Have you seen the ads that Lowe’s is putting out this spring? The couple comes in with garden problems and the friendly knowledgeable Lowe’s employee helps them out?

After you quit laughing, go to your nearest Lowe’s and look for an employee to help you.  If you manage to find one, ask him/her a question– any question.  If it begins with “Do you have…” or “Where are your…” you might actually get an answer, and it may actually be correct.  But if your question begins with “How do I…” or “When can I…” then, if you get an answer, be afraid of the answer– be very afraid.

If you need answers, come to the place built on having the answers.  Our goal is to make you successful with your greengoods purchases.  We know that the money you spend on plants is only part of what you spend.  You also spend time planting and caring for them, and your time is valuable to you.  We want you to be successful the first time, so you’ll gain confidence and come back and get some more plants, and make your world a more beautiful and healthy place to live in.

Success breeds success.  Failure (even when the plants are “guaranteed”) just breeds discouragement.

We just hate it when a customer who normally shops at box stores like Lowe’s comes in and says, “Oh, I could never grow that, I just kill everything.”  Give our plants a try.  And if you need advice about how to plant, or when to plant, you don’t have to be afraid of the answers.

An April Day

You know how it is with an April day:

When the sun is out and the wind is still,

You’re one month on in the middle of May.

But if you so much as dare to speak,

A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,

A wind comes off a frozen peak,

And you’re two months back in the middle of March.
